Description

The Temple Emanu El Religious School is divided into 4 blocks:

 

  • Mechina (Preparation or Readiness)   Grades PreK-2

    These classes meet on Sunday mornings from either 9:00-11:15 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m.

 

  • Basis (Base) Grades 3-4

    These classes meet twice a week; once on Sunday mornings from either 9:00-11:15 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. and once during the week. The students have a choice of one of the following midweek programs: Tuesday or Thursday at Temple Emanu El from 4:00 - 5:45.

 

  • Gesher (Bridge or Transition)   Grade 5-6

    These classes meet twice a week; once on Sunday mornings from either 9:00-11:15 a.m. or 10:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. and once during the week. The students have a choice of one of the following midweek programs: Tuesday or Thursday at Temple Emanu El from 4:00 - 5:45.

 

  • TEEN Kolel (High School)   Grades 7-12.

    7th - 12th grade meet on Monday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Students eat dinner together and then study both specific grade level curriculum and sign up for contemporary topics of interest. (7th grade students have additional work to fulfill their B'nai Mitzvah requirements.) In addition students start their B'nai Mitzvah training with the Cantor. There are also opportunities to participate in youth group meetings and activities during this time. Opportunities to participate in mitzvah programs throughout the year are a part of this curriculum.
